In high school I hung around with a great group of friends. Both Male and Female. We always got along and it was a great ride from 76-78 at Harry Ainlay in Edmonton.
Of our group, I was the oldest and I always hit those little milestones just a little quicker than the others... most milestones anyway!
In November I turned 50 and to me it was no big deal. Just another number on the "March towards Death". LOL. I've never really looked at my age and thought "What the hell have I done with my life?". I'm content and always have been with where I'm at. Life has been good and I've done and seen a lot of things that others could only imagine doing and seeing. 50 is fine by me.
However, just in the past few weeks though the rest of the gang has started to hit the 50 mark and I'm fascinated by how each one of them approaches the half century marker. Some are down about where they are in life, some are ambivalent and some have hit this birthday with great gusto.
My take is this... IF you do the best you can with what life has given you, what's to feel bad about? 50 is just a number. Enjoy it and embrace it.
